Effective Parenting Course
This programme can be used by parents, parents to be, or, anyone that takes on a parenting role.
It will help them to develop their understanding of child behaviour and increase their knowledge of the role of parents in today’s society. The course will be ideal for those who want to gain a better understanding of child behaviour, parents’ rights and responsibilities in relation to current laws, and the support that is available to parents from professional services. People working with or mentoring parents may also find the qualification useful as a Level 2 starting qualification.
This course aims to help learners understand the changing role of parenting and related issues in today’s society. The course outlines parents’ roles and responsibilities and covers
legislation that affects parents. It examines the different family forms found in society and how they impact on the parenting role, and identifies key stages of development in children
and learning opportunities they may have.
The course also focuses on the health and safety of children and effective child behaviour management.

Study HoursThis is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.
