For entry to the BSc you should hold an HND in a relevant discipline such as the HND in Engineering Systems.
How do I attend?
You may attend the BSc course on a full time basis at The NHC-Thurso over one academic year, or part time on a flexible study basis over a longer period. Note that it is possible to study this course as part of our evening class provision, which may include some twilight and/or evening sessions.
What will I study?
You will study a variety of subjects, building on the knowledge gained at HNC and HND level. The BSc satisfies educational requirements of Incorporated Engineer (IEng).
What could I do next?
You may be able to progress from the BSc to the BEng Hons. You may gain employment in the engineering industry or if you are already in employment this course may enhance your career prospects.

Course Fees for Part Time Students
The units which count towards this qualification are available on an individual basis, making it possible for part time students to gather sufficient units to achieve the award, albeit over a longer period.
You may not have to pay any fees for these units if you qualify for a fee waiver, for instance if you are eligible for certain benefits. See the college's Fee Waiver Policy in the resources area of the website.
It is possible to use a current £200 Individual Learning Account (ILA200 )to pay for these units as you come to study them.
Part time students may also possible qualify for the ILA500, which is a £500 grant for students studying HNC, HND, Degree and taught Postgraduate courses. You must study units totally 40 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF) credits or more a year.
