Electrical/Electronic Engineering BTEC National Certificate Level 3

About the course:
This is a two-year course, which consists of ten common units and two specialist units selected from the appropriate pathway.

Course Content:
Year one consists of six common units which include: communications, health & safety, mathematics, electrical principles plus electronic devices and microelectronics or electrical applications and (programmable logic control) PLC's. Year two has a further four common units and two specialist units. The four common units are: business, IVA project and further electrical principles plus analogue electronics and eigital electronics, or 3 phase systems and 3 phase motors. The two specialist units will depend on the chosen pathway: electrical power or electronics.

Equipment Requirements:
You will be required to supply adequate paper, pens, ruler & calculator to enable participation in all theory classes.

Assessment:
There are no formal examinations but the completion of course assignments is ongoing throughout to monitor progress and understanding to achieve a successful outcome.

Progression:
The course is equivalent to three A levels and forms a good basis for progression to higher education.

Additional Information:
If you are leaving school or under the age of 19 there are no fees to pay.

If you are on a qualifying means tested benefit the tuition fees for some courses can be reduced, however you will still need to pay for Exams and Administration costs. You must claim tuition fee remission with proof before enrolment.
