The electrical installation sector continues to suffer from a skills gap and needs to keep up with rapidly developing technologies.
This qualification is intended for learners who would like to prepare for a career in the electrical industry. It provides an entry point into the industry and aids progression onto Level 2 courses.
To achieve the Level 1 Diploma in Electrical Installation learners must successfully complete seven units
101 - Structure of the construction industry
102 - Safe working practices
103 - Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
104 - Site Preparation for Working in the Construction Industry
105 - Electrical installation wiring and terminations
106 - Fabrication Techniques for Electrical Installation
107 - Electrical science and technology

Course programme
The structure of this qualification is a combination of practical and theoretical elements. Both will be assessed via written and practical assignments.
On successful completion of the Level 1, learners can progress onto the following qualifications: • City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations • BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Engineering
Subject to interview based on GCSEs, equivalent qualifications and own merit. A Grade C in GCSE Maths and English is preferred although not essential.
