What you need to know
How will I study?

The qualification involves seven units; 201 Health and safety in building services engineering, 301 Understanding the fundamental principles and requirements of environmental technologies and systems, 302 Principles of electrical science, 303 Electrical Installations: fault diagnosis and rectification, 304 Electrical Installations: inspection, testing and commissioning, 305 Electrical design and 308 Career awareness in building services engineering. If you are a full time student aged 16-18 you will follow a study programme which will consist of your main Electrical Installation course, enterprise and enrichment activities, English and maths as well work experience Other City & Guilds qualification available following completion of this course include: - • Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services • Level 3 Diploma in Electrotechnical Technology • Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations
How will I be taught?

You will be taught through a blended learning technique based in a classroom. Theses techniques will incorporate lectures, practical application, group working, demonstrations, and the use of Moodle (VLe). There will also be the requirement to have an up-to-date copy of the On-site-guide (17th edition Amendment 3, 2015 – yellow copy) as this is used in the lessons and during examinations.
How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through on-line examinations, written examinations, practical assessments and written knowledge questions.
