What you'll learn
On this course you will learn to:
- understand voltage, current, resistance, power and Ohms Law
- demonstrate an understanding of electrical circuit theory and circuit diagrams
- construct and test, a direct on line starter circuit
- use a logical fault-finding process to identify common faults on motors, contactors and associated devices
- competently use a variety of test equipment, digital multi-range test meters, insulation and continuity testers, and clamp meters
- demonstrate an understanding of methods of protection including fuses, circuit breakers and residual current devices
- safely disconnect and reconnect single and three phase supplies, a.c. motors and associated switchgear using isolating, locking off and permit to work procedures
- understand the concept of Full and half wave rectification and Transformer theory.
