This course is designed to explore the world of electronic engineering including analysing and creating solutions with real industrial partners to real life engineering problems. The students who enrol on this learning program will be looking to achieve a placement on an advanced modern apprenticeship program.

About this course

Staying with Gower College Swansea, students could progress on to the HND in Electrical Engineering
This course is designed to support students into the job market via an Advanced Apprenticeship. However it is also possible to enter higher education with this qualification.

Entry to this qualification will be a Level 2 vocational electronics qualification or four GCSEs.

Course programme

The course is delivered with a blend of practical and theory with the majority of the teaching and learning in a practical environment.

Assessment is throughout the learning program with regular modular assessments. During this course the students are encouraged and supported to find a work placement for one day a week throughout the duration of the course. This has proven to foster excellent relationships with industry that often can develop into employment. The course is four days a week in college and one day a week with an employer.

Additional information

There is a requirement to have learning equipment such as: Paper Pens Calculator Geometry set Memory stick For the practical elements including work experience students will have to supply protective footwear. There is also a trip for Level 3 students to a digital technology environment that may need a small financial contribution.
