This apprenticeship develops the knowledge you need to install security systems - you can specialise in anything from intruder alarms to fire detection.
This course provides the knowledge to enter the exciting and growing electronic security and emergency systems industry and forms part of an apprenticeship framework which is structured as follows:
The qualification 1853/02/03 (Underpinning Knowledge) is delivered in our specialist electronic workshops. This element of the course includes the following units:
Unit 001 Electrical and electronic principles of electro technology
Unit 002 Working effectively and safely in electro mechanical environments
Unit 004 Intruder alarm systems
The qualification 2882-02/03 (Certificate/Diploma in Providing Electronic Security and Emergency Systems). There are multiple units which are chosen to match the requirements of the apprenticeship placement.

About this course
From Level 2, learners can progress to Level 3 and be deemed as an installation technician. From Level 3, the learner would be deemed as a qualified technician involved in more specialist installations.
You must be employed in a suitable role within the industry. Knowledge of electronic security and emergency systems would be advantageous, however all elements will be taught on a day release basis and the practical requirements will be gained with your work placed provider.

Course programme
The course is delivered via a blended learning approach. This will include workshop theory and practical sessions.
Assessment in the workplace forms a significant element of the program. This reinforces relevance and specialist delivery in the alarm industry sector.
A full day release program is used to ensure the learner has the necessary underpinning knowledge to add value to the apprenticeship placement. A dedicated assessor tutor delivers training and assessment in the workplace.
