Introduction:
This course is for those who wish to progress their career in the electrotechnical services industry. The qualification is the first part of the internationally recognised benchmark 2330 technical certificate, combining electrical installation practical skills with a range of complimentary knowledge units.
Study Mode & Location:
This part time evening course lasts one year & sessions last for 4 hours each. Due to the practical nature of the course any additional time spent practicing away from College will help you achieve a better standard, but there is no formal requirement to work at home. It will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.
Course Content:
The Course Covers all elements of Electrical Installation, including Working effectively and safely, Electrical Principles, Electrical Installation techniques and technology. The key area of Inspection and testing is included within this course of training.
Assessment:
Assessment is based on knowledge and performance. Knowledge elements are assessed by on-line multichoice examinations and performance is assessed by two key assignments practicals.
Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Students can progress from this course onto the City and Guilds 2330 Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology (Buildings and Structures) or into employment within the industry.
Additional Information:
You will be required to purchase the recommended protective clothing necessary for this programme of study.
How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with an Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
