A smart phone that has become an integral part of our everyday life not only helps us communicate, but also performs household tasks. Blue light emitting LED lamps, for the invention of which Japanese scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize. These diods have become energy and environment saving light sources. Bright white light emitting LED bulbs can be exploited for a longer period of time and consume much less electricity than a simple light bulb.
Electronics engineers' inventions change both the worlds and people's habits. We use electronic equipment daily and almost everywhere - when working, traveling, or shopping. Thus, the demand for electronics engineers both in Lithuania and abroad is growing.
This study programme is aimed at the preparation of electronics engineers, who understand the operation principles of electronic devices and are able to create new electronic equipment and computerized electronic systems.
Computer tablets, smart phones and watches, even earphones or loud speakers are electronic devices, without which it is difficult to imagine our work or leisure. Washing machines, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, lawn mowers facilitate our household routine to a great extent. Radio connection, TV, laser and many other things are examples of electronics engineers' inventions that have added to the progress of humanity.
In the course of Design of Electronic Devices specialization studies students acquire latest knowledge of electronic equipment and integrated electronic systems, and learn to apply mocro- and nano-technologies in electronics.
