Course programme

Topics covered include the role and responsibilities of a first aider, being able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally, being able to manage a casualty with external bleeding and being able to manage a casualty with a minor injury.

To complete this qualification learnes should expect to undertake 7 hours of learning, with a minimum contact time, excluding breaks of 6 hours typically over 1 day. Learners are assessed by a practical demonstration and written/oral questioning and an examination.
