Course programme
This course is delivered by senior Emergency Care Practitioners and ex military team medics. It encompasses all the very latest techniques and protocols. We utilise realistic and real life scenario training to reinforce the academic element of this testing course. Course timetable - Course Welcome & Introduction The Role of EMT, Code of Conduct Pre Hospital Environment (Scene Safety, Minimising Infection, Post Incident Procedures, Triage and introduction to Kinematics) Patient Assessment (Communication & Primary/Secondary Survey) Basic Life Support with Paediatrics Airway Management: Recognition, OP & NP Airways, LMA Use of Oxygen (Safety & Administration) Airway Management Scenarios Removal of Crash Helmets Use of an AED (Safety, Precautions & Usage) Haemorrhage Management (Skill Stations) Shock Management Trauma Management Including Fractures, Dislocations, Burns/Scalds etc Spinal Immobilisation Skills Assisting the Paramedic Pain Relief (Entonox) Trauma Scenario’s Ballistic & Chest Trauma Anaphylaxis Management (Including Use of Epi Pen) Medical Emergency’s (Diabetes, Heart Conditions etc) Road Traffic Collision Management (including Kinetics of Trauma) Recording & Reporting Scenarios Assessments End of Course Courses can be tailored to industry sector such as construction, heavy industry and close protection (a 2 day additional module can be added for CP Medics encompassing cannulation (venal and IO) suturing and other relevant skills as required.
