Course programme

Topics covered include the role and responsibilities of the pediatric first aider, how to provide first aid for an infant or a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally; who has a foreign body airway obstruction; who is suffering from shock or anaphylaxis.

To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake 8 hours of learning, with a minimum contact time, excluding breaks of 6 hours.

This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and written/ oral questioning and an examination.
