This Master develops skills for designing and optimizing innovative propulsion systems with a focus on thermofluid processes and energy conversion for research and industry.

The performance and efficiency of internal combustion engines and turbojets is influenced by various processes including gas flow, compression and expansion through turbomachines or reciprocating piston, fuel injection and combustion, energy conversion and heat transfer. Therefore, the courses offered in this programme will provide an emphasis on all these processes and how they interact.

The programme of study lasts two academic years - denoted by M1 and M2. Energetics and Propulsion is one of four specialisms available within the Mechanical Engineering stream. The language of instruction is English throughout the programme.

About this course

The main objectives are: to use advanced numerical and scientific techniques to discretize and solve mechanical problems and master the mathematical analysis of models and approximation methods.

Students must have: a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Technology, or a 'license' qualification or equivalent. Applicants must have a good level in Mathematics and be fluent in English - written and spoken. An applicant whose native language is not English is required to pass a recognised international test of English (TEOFL, IELTS, TOEIC or Cambridge Advanced English Test). Applicants who carried out their studies in English may provide an official letter from their university stating that the language of instruction was English in place of one of the approved English tests.

This program provides good prospects for employment or further study. Former students have worked in the following feilds and sectors: Automotive, Industrial engines, Aeronautics, Transportation, Power plants, Energy, Engine design & calibration, Modelling and Simulation, Research and Innovation, Thermofluid Engineering. Some positions that alumni have held: Thermofluid Engineer, Design engineer, Calibration Engineer, Modelling Engineer, Research Engineer (post PhD
