The Energy Program is an interdisciplinary program encompassing technology, policy and management aspects, addressing the current and emerging needs of the energy sector. The Program prepares leaders for clean energy transition in the 21st century.
In response to the regional demand, we offer specialization in,
Energy Technology – with focus on renewable energy technologies, especially solar and biomass and the rational use of energy and efficiency.
Energy Policy, Planning and Economics – with focus on policies, incentives, market, and economics for providing energy access, energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Electric Power System Management – with emphasis on the emerging issues of power system operation and control, deregulation of power system, and the smart grids.
The Energy Program conducts strategic state-of-art research to support technology, market and policy development. Our alumni are serving as leaders in the private sector, governments, universities, United Nation agencies and the development banks in Asia and beyond.

About this course
The Energy Program provides a unique platform to lead projects and institutions as an Energy Specialist with the necessary educational base and professional foundation to fulfill leading positions in the Energy Sector. Our courses will:
Enable graduates for positions in economics or planning departments of energy ministries, energy companies, electric and gas utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), energy service companies (ESCOs) and energy consulting firms.
Prepare graduates with the knowledge and skill in operational management of power utilities, Smart-grid and Micro-grid.
Train graduates for positions in national and international institutions, research and development departments of industries and energy utilities, energy conservation agencies and consulting firms.
Prepare graduates to efficiently managing energy companies in the increasingly globalized business environment through modern management approaches.
Energy specialization conducts strategic state-of-art research to support technology, market and policy development.
After completing the program you will stand out for your ability to integrate scientific principles, engineering knowledge and management techniques in developing innovative solutions in the water management industry.
Our graduates from more than 46 countries are working in multinational companies (GE, Siemens, ABB, SCG, Mott MacDonald), International financial institutions (World Bank, ADB), United Nations (UNDP, UNIDO, UNEP, UNFCC), Academia and Federal/State government ministries/enterprises/utilities (EGAT, PEA, MEA, EVN, EdC, energy ministries), etc.
This specialization is intended for professionals from energy and electricity authorities, power sector development ministries/authorities, energy and environment ministries, private companies, academia, NGOs, city and municipal authorities dealing with or interested in energy technology, economics, policy, planning and power system management.
Candidates with degree from an institution of recognised standing preferably in engineering, management, economics, social science and related fields are eligible to apply.
Students who successfully complete the courses and research requirements will be awarded the Master/ Ph.D. degree in Energy. This degree will be awarded by Asian Institute of Technology.
