About this course

Standard entry requirements for this course are one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance in your last place of study or work. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 1/2 (E/F/G) or above is required.



Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19, who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Course programme

Year 1

There will be an emphasis on learning by practical application of skills and as such there is a large element of time dedicated to practical workshop sessions. You will develop skills through practical problem solving, working on your own and as part of a team, as well as studying the basic theory of the related engineering subjects.
There will be a strong focus on timekeeping, attendance of classes and participation in your learning.

Additional information

Assessment is by practical competence in mechanical and electronics workshops, written tests, assignments and written exams for Functional Skills.
