If you have a background in engineering and mathematics and you're looking to apply your skills more creatively, our master's is an excellent choice for you.
Our course brings together both the practical and creative aspects of designing new products and services. You'll learn about how creative techniques, analytical skills and engineering principles are used to solve design challenges. Looking beyond the classroom, you'll explore how design impacts all sectors of industry and how it overlaps with engineering.

Our graduates have gone on to work with design consultancies in the UK and overseas. Some of our graduates have secured jobs at DNV GL (formerly Garrad Hassan), ABB Research and Dyson. We also encourage our best performing MSc students to continue their studies with us on our PhD programme.
IELTS: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in all components
The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): 62 with no less than 59 in any element
TOEFL IBT: 90 overall with a minimum 21 in all 4 components
If you need to improve your English language skills before starting your studies, you may be able to take a pre-sessional course to reach the required level.
