This course has been designed to develop a broad-based knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering. You will study two modules in each year: Engineering Mathematics (ENGD1001) and Electrical and Electronic Principles (ENGD1004) in year 1 and Mechanical Principles (ENGD1005) and Product Production and Product Management (ENGD2021) in year 2. The Engineering Mathematics module includes common functions, differential calculus, integral calculus, and data analysis. In the Electrical and Electronic Principles module you will look at areas such as resistor circuits, Ohms law, Norton theorems and reactive components. In the Mechanical Principles Solid Mechanics module you will explore areas such as bending moments, torsion, Hookes law and Poissons ratio.
The Product Introduction and Product Management module includes new product development, design and development process, project management, quality management, financial management and marketing.

Progression On completion of the HNC in Mechatronics at Tresham you may wish to continue your studies at De Montfort University to achieve a HND or Degree qualification. The HNC will enhance progression opportunities into employment in the Mechanical or Electrical Engineering sectors.
