You will require one satisfactory reference and it is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance on a previous programme of study. GCSE’s in English, maths, science and one other subject at grade 3 (D) or above are required.

Course programme

Year 1

Studying a range of subjects relating to the manufacturing industry, the course is comprised of seven units, the engineered world, investigating an engineered product, interpreting and using engineering information, health and safety, maths for engineering, computer-aided engineering and machining techniques. You will also complete Functional Skills in English and maths or GCSEs where appropriate.

Additional information

You will complete a range of written and practical assignments together with externally set exams on two of the units studied.
