Course programme

You take modules in mathematics, physics and engineering, designed to prepare you for entry to any of our Engineering degree courses.

Mathematics and engineering laboratory modules are a key course component and run through both terms. Other modulesintroduce you to the physical sciences needed in engineering, including:

  • electricity and magnetism
  • electrical circuits and mechanics
  • the properties of matter.

An applied technology module places the other topics in the context of engineering.

Foundation Year assessment consists of problem sheets, laboratory assignments and exams.

These modules are running in the academic year 2018/19. We also plan to offer them in future academic years. They may become unavailable due to staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum. We’ll make sure to let our applicants know of such changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
