What will I study?
This course is significantly different from English Language GCSE as the focus at AS/A2 is on the linguistic analysis of texts.

Duration:
One year for AS Level and a further year to complete A Level

Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
You should be interested in the study of language and enjoy a wide range of reading, non-fiction as well as fiction.

How will I be assessed?
This A Level will be assessed by a combination of coursework (40 per cent) and examination (60 per cent).

What can I do afterwards?
This course is a good preparation for Higher Education or full-time employment in a range of professions, including law, media and journalism, public relations, teaching and speech therapy.

Are there any additional costs involved?
There are no costs associated with this course but students may wish to purchase their own copies of revision guides or text books.
