Studying combined English Language and Literature will challenge and entertain you helping you to understand the influences on the heritage of the English language. You will also be encouraged to make creative and informed responses to each of the major literacy genres of poetry, prose and drama and a range of non-literary texts.
You will have guided reading as well as being encouraged to read in your own time. You will learn to analyse how spoken English is represented in both literary and non-literary contexts. This will help you to understand how language functions as a medium of communication and help you improve your own skills of analysis and self-expression.
You will require 5 GCSEs at Grades A*- C including English Language.
