Content:
Students will explore critical viewpoints and influences of texts, read and compare literary texts, develop an ability to analyse seen and unseen texts in light of knowledge gained during the course and study synoptic papers.
Students will be introduced to ways of investigating and understanding the diversity of uses and contexts for spoken and written English in the modern world and in your own lives. Violence, murder, passion, love, revenge are just some of the temes you will consider as you study poetry, drama and novels from different historical periods -exploring what they mean to you as a critical, intelligent modern reader.
