About this course

You must have a teaching qualification such as a Cert Ed, DTLLS or PGCE and you must have level 2 or equivalent in English and maths as well as pass an assessment to show you have English skills working at level 3. As this is a practice based programme, you will need a minimum of 50 relevant teaching practice hours.

Course programme

Year 1

There are four modules in total which are taught using a blended learning approach. This means you will attend six full-day workshops at staggered points throughout the year and the rest will be through Moodle (VLE). The modules will look at developing your subject knowledge and how to develop the skills of your literacy or ESOL learners. Internet access is required to undertake this programme.

Additional information

You will be assessed by a variety of methods including presentations, written assignments and practical teaching observations.
