About this course
At the College you could progress to the HND in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
This course fast tracks to the second year of an apprenticeship programme or alternatively is acceptable entry to the Higher National Diploma.
Five GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths, English Language and a Science subject. You must also pass an aptitude test (this will assess your ability to perform specific tasks and react to a range of different situations).

Course programme
While following a one year EAL Diploma in Engineering Technologies, the students will study a wide range of units, which allows learners to focus on their chosen career or area of interest and progress into employment or higher education.
The units include:
- Engineering
- Maths
- Mechanical Principles
- Electrical Principles
- Mechanical Maintenance
- Computer Aided Drafting
A Level 2 NVQ will also be studied as part of this programme, as will the Essential Skills required for the apprenticeship framework.
