Course Overview
This course is designed to qualify recreational divers to use enriched air (“Nitrox”) for no-stop recreational diving. The program addresses the use of Enriched air with 22 percent to 40 percent oxygen, with emphasis on Enriched air with 32 and 36 percent oxygen.
What does it involve
The PADI Enriched Air Diver course emphasizes the theoretical and operational considerations involved with enriched air diving. Mastery of the learning objectives is demonstrated during knowledge development assessment, practical application sessions and open water dives.
This course covers the knowledge, skills and techniques for diving with enriched air. It consists of a day in the classroom covering knowledge development and practical operational application, followed by two dives using enriched air under Instructor supervision.
Course prerequisites
To qualify for the PADI Enriched Air Diver course, an individual must:
1. Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, Advanced Plus or equivalent (for this program, equivalency is proof of certification beyond entry level with experience in deep diving and navigation), or PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent) with proof of at least 10 dives logged beyond training dives for certification.
2. Be 15 years of age or older.
Notes
Remember once you have achieved five PADI Speciality's you can become a PADI Master Scuba Diver.
