For 16-18 year-olds, your tuition will be free and you may be able to get discounted travel with Transport for London student travel cards. 19+: Adults on many courses are eligible for Government funding for some or all of the fee. Adults aged 19-23 are eligible for Government funding up to and including their first full level 3 qualification, and after that they may access an Advanced Learner Loan to cover tuition fees if the course is loan-fundable. Adults aged 24+ on a level 3+ course may take out an Advanced Learner Loan to cover tuition fees if the course is loan-fundable. If you do need to pay a fee, the College offers a number of ways to pay and can also advise you about financial support available to you. How do I enrol? We will then invite you for an assessment and give you advice about the most suitable course for your level of knowledge and skills. Student success Last year, 95% of our students completed and 100% of successful students went on to study Health and Social Care at the next level at HCC. What's the time commitment The course has approximately 9.5 hours teacher contact time per week – spread over 3 days. Additionally, you should spend 5-6 hours each week studying and completing homework. Your teacher will set you assignments and you must not hand these in late. You can use the college library, and we will show you useful books, journals, CD ROMS, Internet and VLE. Normally, you should expect to spend an extra 3 hours a week on private study. Your teacher will set you regular assessments and set deadlines for you to hand them in. Support for you Before you start your lessons, you’ll take part in induction sessions, where you’ll meet other students and find out all about the support that’s available to you. This includes learning about the Virtual Learning Environment, tutorials and the campus facilities.
