The Programme
This is a stimulating course that will develop your skills in the analysis and solution of complex real world problems. There is no coursework.
The Programme Content
You will study the interaction of humans and the environment.
At AS Level there are two modules: Module 1 looks at how the other living things on the planet are threatened by human activities and how they can be protected. Module 2 looks at the issues around global warming.
The A2 Level course (year two) has 2 modules: Module 1 looks at the global effects of energy supply and at how farming, fishing and forestry supply our growing needs and cause us problems. Module 2 looks at the origin, movement and effects of pollutants.
Progression / Careers
There are many Environmental Science Degrees and HNDs. Careers within this subject include work for the environment agency, conservation organisations, government, education and private industry.
