The Programme:
This broad based three year degree programme in Equine Studies covers a wide variety of equine topics to provide a challenging and demanding area of study. The course will make full use of the extensive facilities at the College.

Year Three

• Dissertation.
• Equine Sports Medicine, Therapy & Rehabilitation .

Special Features:
Throughout the first two years of the course students will be able to improve their equitation skills while developing their proficiency in equine management. Extra equitation training is available and students are encouraged to progress through the British Horse Society Qualifications In the third year students will undertake the dissertation which provides the opportunity for individuals to do an in-depth study on a specialised topic within your chosen subject area. Opportunities to compete in the Colleges Equestrian team also exist.

The equine industry provides a full and diverse range of exciting employment opportunities within the ancilliary industries within the equine sector. All the skills gained throughout the programme will be transferable to many other graduate employment market opportunities.

Entry Requirements:
140 points at Advanced level (80 at A2) or equivalent OR National Diploma at MPP OR 2 National Awards at Merit OR NVQ Level 3 in a related subject with a satisfactory reference OR “life experience” will also be taken into account when considering applications from mature students OR Holders of Higher National Diploma in Equine will be considered for direct entry into the second year of the programme. Holders of a Foundation Degree in Equine will be considered for direct entry into the third year, after successful completion of a short bridging programme. An admission assignment may be used in certain circumstances.
