Course programme

Year 1

The course offers the opportunity to learn English whilst studying for a vocational qualification. You will attend English classes to achieve national ESOL standards in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. You will also learn Maths, ICT, Citizenship, Employability and Care knowledge to learn skills for being employed in the Care vocational area. You will learn about babies, children, teenagers, adults and elderly people. How they develop, their needs, how to communicate with and support them, health and safety, safeguarding roles and responsibilities, and skills needed to be employed in the Care vocational area. You will be expected to complete assignments to demonstrate the knowledge you have learnt on the Health and Social Care topics to achieve the Care qualification. There is also an opportunity to undertake a Care placement.

Additional information

Initial Assessment will take place when you join the course of your English language level. To achieve the Care qualification you will need to do assignments that meet the required criteria for the qualification. These will be assessed by your teacher.
