Essential Business

History

Essential Business Limited is a small business. It was set up Julie Stanford in 2002. Julie had run her own businesses for many years and is a specialist in the design of readable books and workbooks.

The company has been trading for eight years and has won a number of awards for their materials, including the Plain English Award and Honorary Endorsement by SFEDI.

As well as providing specialist business start-up materials for individual and for their business support organisation clients, Essential Business also edited, designed and produced all trainer and participant materials for the Business Link Start-up Programme in the south east of England, and were invited to work on the national programme.

All Essential Business course trainers have run their own businesses. They have been through the whole journey themselves and so know exactly what you need to know to start and survive in business.

Not only that, but it is company policy that the staff should be actively in voluntary business support and the MD, Julie Stanford, has been Vice Chairman of the Brighton & Hove branch of the Federation of Small Businesses, and Vice President and then President of the Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce. She was also Entrepreneur in Residence at University of Brighton Business School.

Lorraine Bell, lead trainer on the start-up programmes, is currently Vice President of Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce and holds an ITC SFEDI accreditation.

Their award-winning materials, expert trainers and small group courses mean that people learn a great deal in a short time. Plus, after the courses, all attendees are enrolled free of charge onto the private online Essential Business Club, which provides further inspiration, support and direct access to the team.
