Costs and equipment 16-18 year olds will not have to pay tuition fees, awarding body registration or exam fees. However they are required to pay for other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits. Students aged over 19 on the start date of their studies, have to pay tuition fees. In addition they are expected to pay awarding body registration and exam fees, other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits. Some students may be eligible for a fee concession, although in most cases some element of the fees will have to be paid. You may be entitled to a reduction if you are eligible for financial support. The Award in Personal & Social Development provides a flexible framework for developing and recognising a broad range of personal and social skills for working, learning and living. Employers aren’t just looking for employees with qualifications. We can help you develop the other skills you’ll need for success; from customer service and working independently to using new technology and handling money.

Entry Level/Level 1 Functional Skills English qualification, will encourage learners to demonstrate their speaking and listening and reading and writing skills and is concerned with developing an individual’s ability to transfer these skills to different situations.

The Entry Level /Level 1 Functional Skills Mathematics qualification encourages the development of mathematic skills that are integral to working and everyday life. The qualification is also concerned with developing an individual’s ability to transfer these skills to different situations.

The Entry Level Award in Functional Skills ICT will encourage learners to demonstrate their use of ICT system skills, finding and selecting information skills and developing presenting and communicating information skills in ways appropriate to their situation.

The NCFE Certificates in Employability Skills and Learning to Learn are designed to help develop and give recognition to skills that will assist and prepare learners for seeking, acquiring and maintaining employment.

In addition, learners will undertake an EDEXCEL Entry 3/Level 1 BTEC vocational award with a choice of a variety of units which will enable them to decide which future vocational pathway they may wish to pursue.
