Essex Powerboat School

History

We are now coming to the end of our second season and things are getting busier and busier. We like to put this down to our ability to provide instruction to all abilities with no pressure to those who may need just a little more time. Our recommendation levels are soaring, which we are very pleased with.
We have access to water for beginners, also to the Thames estuary with its major shipping lane to negotiate, so something for the more experienced to have a go at.

Advantages of studying here

We have access to tidal waters in most weather and sea conditions. therefore 98% always go ahead. WE have a 6mtr Humber assault R.I.B with a 90 H.P outboard tilt & trim engine. The R.I.B is fitted out with all neccessary instruments to complete a level 2 course.

Description

We are an RYA training center providing Powerboat courses. Jet ski, VHF Radio and more.
WE are coastal regisitered which enables you once you have completed your level 2 powerboat course to apply to the RYA for the I.C.C. The international certificate of competance.
We are open all year round and our sheltered water site enables beginners to take control and get experience before venturing out in to the tidal Thames estuary. Also having sheletered water enables 98% of our courses to take place on the dates set.
We also run the RYA personal watercraft or jet ski course. This is a one day course designed to help beginners or seasoned skier further either there theory or driving skills.
Our VHF/DSC radio classes are designed to make you go away with the confidence that should it alll go wrong you can communicate a mayda or pan emergency call to the rescue services. Also included is the knowledge to make calls to other boaters, the coastguard, marinas etc. Its a one day course which like all our courses includes log book and mauual and certificate.
