I liked most the flexibility of scheduling and the opportunity to experience a variety of situations. My teacher was skilled and totally qualified. Also, the family was very warm with me, they planned many activities for me experience the vibe of this culture.

What I would highlight:
I enjoyed being in a Portuguese home. Delfina was very friendly and professional, we chatted a lot in Portuguese at normal fluent speakers speed. I understood about 10% over the course of the week

What I would highlight:
Beatrice is a patient teacher. She chose articles in French for us to discuss beforehand. I also recorded her reading selected passages for later review of pronunciation and intonation. What a fascinating woman, she shared with us personal anecdotes. I was especially fascinating about those when she lived in Djibouti with her husband who was in the Foreign Legion. Also a great cook! Very simple but very tasty cuisine.

What I would highlight:
The welcoming, accommodation and meals given by the family were very good. The teaching was adapted to my needs and level. Overall, I feel I achieved my personal objectives for the programme.
What could be improved:
Did not like the fact that both house occupants were smokers and as it was their house they maintained their usual habit of smoking inside. In Australia this is most unusual nowadays. I think this should have been indicated prior to committment.

What I would highlight:
Caroline had much instructional material, which I had never seen in an American university bookstore. Accommodation was good; the house was in the centre of town and had a comfortable bead. They offered me wine at each meal and I enjoyed a variety of dishes prepared from fresh foods. Definitely, I would repeat the experience.

What I would highlight:
Gustavo adapted the course program to my needs. He gave me articles from google scholar to read and later discuss. In addition to this, Gustavo was very plugged into the social life of the neighborhood. Friends of his in the village came by virtually every evening, so I had many excellent opportunities to speak Spanish. The success of my experience is all attributable to him.

Great welcome. Felt like home since the beginning. There were many opportunities of asking questions. The flat is in an excellent location, close to the old town and just a block from the beach. Fantastic meals catered to my dietary wishes.

What I would highlight:
My homestay learning course in Madrid was fantastic, better than I was expecting. Living in the same house with my instructor really immersed me into Spanish language. So my learning was so much better than any other course that I have ever done and I have been studying for many years. I also learnt a lot from Madrid and Spain and the culture that I cannot wait to revisit.

What I would highlight:
I had a very memorable time with Brigitte. She gave me a warm welcome and really made my staying pleasant. My French made an enormous progress thanks to her skilful teaching and the constant practice. Plus, we made amusing activities such as various trips which I found interesting, not least a visit to an art exhibition at Aix-en-Provence.
