If you’re interested in the literature of the Romantic period, including the Gothic, this innovative course will enable you to explore the literary migration of ideas and texts during the Romantic and Revolutionary period between 1770 and 1830 in Western Europe.
You’ll study with world-leading academics, taking modules from across the Faculty of Arts, and developing excellent research skills through your final dissertation. It would be helpful to have a reading knowledge of one of French, German or Italian, but you don’t need these to complete the course successfully.
Many of our postgraduates progress to PhD level study in the field of comparative literature, while others have developed careers in translation, teaching and marketing.
