Exercise Physiology Course
About the Level 3 Exercise Physiology Certificate
Exercise physiology is the study of acute responses and chronic adaptations to a wide range of exercise conditions. Exercise physiologists study the effect of exercise on pathology, and the mechanisms to reduce or reverse disease development. This online course is designed to offer competences in a series of physiology notions, but also sports, nutrition and dietary and fitness; concepts that can empower students for a wide variety of sports and therapy related careers. It is one of the most versatile courses in the exercise and physiology field.
This course does not require any prior experience or qualifications within the exercise physiology field. You can dedicate around 120 hours to this course, or less. It is entirely up to you how you manage your time. To be able to study exercise physiology online all you need is an interest in how the body and mind interact with the mechanisms of exercise.
Who should study this course?
Regardless of your background you can take this course and explore the passion for helping patients by analysing their fitness to make the best recommendations for improving and maintaining their health. You could be a therapist looking for self-development, or a newbie to the field of sports and therapy, this course suits a range of skills and experience levels.
The exercise physiology course is an excellent basis for any further higher education into the sports and physiology area. You could, for example, specialise in strength and conditioning, or cardiac rehabilitation.
What happens after the course?
At the end of this distance learning course you will be able to demonstrate key technical skills and a good knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy and physiology. You may have a previous qualification in an unrelated field, or perhaps you already have some training in anatomy and physiology for exercise and you would like to develop those skills further.
