Course programme

What will I study on the course?

You will study horse biology, horse behaviour, riding on the flat, horse handling, feeding and watering, industrial experience, grooming and plaiting and trimming.


The course runs for three days per week. Students will also be required to attend duties as part of their course.

You will need to have a standard of general education and competence, sufficient to benefit from and succeed on the course. Assessment of suitability is likely to be based on GCSE grades (minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade D). Students who wish to pursue the riding option will also need to take a riding assessment as part of the interview process. Mature students will be considered on their experience and skills.
