About this course

Yes, you will need to have four GCSEs including, English and or maths and preferably two sciences and one other all at grade C or above, or a level 2 qualification in a related subject. The recommended entry requirements are the level 2 Certificate, Extended Certificate or Diploma inAgriculture and/or previous practical experience within an agricultural environment

What will I study on the course?

The learner will need to complete 18 or 19 units (depending on which ones are selected) to

successfully gain this qualification.

The qualification covers a range of topics. The units that everyone is required to take are:

- Business Management

- Anatomy and Physiology

- Plant and Soil Science

- Investigative Project

- Work Experience

There are optional units which allow you to pick areas of interest, including:

- Agricultural Crop Production

- Principles of Inheritance and Genetic Manipulation

The period of work experience will allow you to gain first-hand experience of working on a farm
