What will I study on the course?

You will develop skills within networking and server security, backup and software applications. With the rapid growth of cloud technology and the growing pressure on cyber-security this qualification offers students an opportunity to develop foundation skills in networking and supporting modern, networked computer technologies. You will learn new ICT and Networking concepts and gain practical hands-on skills. You will develop your understanding of the technical specifications involved in a wide range of computer components and network devices. You will learn how to install and configure computer software and hardware, setup user accounts, permissions and passwords to allow access to a network. You will also learn how to ensure security is at the right level to block unauthorised access, find and fix network faults and learn how to administer and monitor network activity.

Ideal if you want to develop the skills required for employment as a networking technician.

This qualification is equivalent in size to three A Levels.
