About this course

You will need to have four GCSEs at grade C or above, an Intermediate GNVQ, or a Level 2 Diploma. Mature students and applicants with a significant level of experience will also be considered.

What will I study on the course?

You will study exciting units including

You will study ecology and conservation, environmental science, estate skills, principles of plant and soil science, environmental interpretation, farm habitat management, countryside recreation and policies, ecology of woodlands forests and trees, machinery operations, urban habitat management, freshwater and wetland management, coastal management, ecological concepts, upland habitat management, industrial experience, land use, tree felling and chainsaw use and specialist project study.

Additional information

The course runs for 3 days per week over 2 years.Most students study the course over a two year period, undertaking nine units per year. In the second year you will be required to undertake eight units at the college and an industrial experience unit, which is usually one day per week on a work placement.
