Course summary A new course incorporating an NC and an SVQ level 2 for entry 2010
Course description
This full time course is based in The NHC-Thurso running over one academic year. It is also available as a work based qualification for those in suitable employment.
The course is split into two parts, a National Certificate which covers all the background knowledge in fabrication and welding, and an SVQ at Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations which includes welding processes, fabrication, thermal cutting techniques mechanical fitting and machining.
Note that the entry requirements have changed slightly from those given in the 2010 prospectus, they are now Standard Grades at Level 4 in Maths, Tech Studies and Physics or at Intermediate 1 level or Skills for Work Intermediate 1 (not level 2 in both as shown).
