Excellence in Research and EnterpriseThe faculty is recognised for its excellence in research and enterprise. Over 200 academic staff from the faculty were entered in the 2008 RAE, across 11 separate Units of Assessment. The overwhelming majority of the research submitted was judged to be international standard, with 35% of the work rated as either internationally excellent or world leading. This research strength is found across the breadth of the faculty, with international excellence demonstrated in all the Units to which we submitted. The Faculty of Science and Technology is proud of its international reputation in areas as diverse as biomedicine, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, computer science, environmental science, geography, neuroscience, and psychology.The faculty is home to the Marine Institute, which links the University to other marine-laboratories in the region to form a world-class hub of excellence in the Marine area. ...
