Course programme
This half day learning session is a primary care workshop aimed at preventative approach to falls where service users are at risk. The workshops is comprehensive in identifying why people may suffer a fall, looking at methods of reducing the risk, and related causes (such as osteoporosis).
The training includes a learner assignment.
Who should attend?This training is ideal for all staff who are directly involved with service users in all settings, and for staff that plan care or carry out service user risk assessments.
Proposed Learner Outcomes - The worker must be able toIdentify the risks of a service user falling
Understand the potential impact of a fall on the individual and the establishment
Be able to carry out risk ratings
Highlight preventative measures that can be taken
Know what to do in the event of a fall or emergency
