Course programme

Year 1

The course is made up of the following four units split into two manageable workbooks:

Unit 1 – Falls in context
Unit 2 – The risk factors and causes of falls
Unit 3 – Falls assessment and prevention
Unit 4 – Managing falls

You can write directly into the workbooks or you can word process your work.


You must be aged over 19 and have lived in the EU for the past 3 years and currently be living in England. There is a short initial assessment to complete to ensure the course is the right level for you. If you are aged 19-24 you must already hold a full level 2 qualification.

Additional information

You will receive a resource pack containing two textbooks and two workbooks with submission dates for each part. You are assessed on the answers you supply within the workbooks. This is a knowledge-based course and you will receive feedback on your answers and guidance on how to complete any resubmissions you might have. This could be via post or email. There are no observations or exams.
