The intensive six-months Fashion Design Course prepares students to take their first steps in fashion design in an introduction to the techniques, processes and methodologies of fashion design. This course provides access to IED Madrid’s master’s degree programmes.
This intensive one-year course in Fashion Design offers the main theoretical principles and technical concepts related to fashion design and the fashion industry with an introduction to the materials and types of fabric applied to design processes.
The students on this programme quickly explore drawing techniques and basic concepts in garment construction to then go on to more technical aspects, such as learning about fabrics, garment structure and an introduction to manufacturing and production.
They learn to analyse design processes in order to find their own creativity as designers, which will give them the opportunity to develop innovative proposals.
About this course
They will learn to find constant inspiration for developing new concepts while they learn about fashion business models today, creating their own visual language and expressing their own style through professional presentations and the creation of a final project that they can add to their portfolio.
This Fashion Design course is aimed at those people who are looking to fashion as an individual form of expression and who want to tell a story through design. This is a qualification from the IED Madrid fashion school that helps students to be prepared and to have confidence in themselves to face future training and/or employment challenges.
