Entry Requirements

You will need a level 3 qualification in a related subject or proven experience in practice. Above all we expect you to have the commitment and enthusiasm to be successful. All shortlisted applicants are offered an interview.

We welcome applications from mature (21+) students who have experience in practice or other suitable qualifications. You will need to be employed or have a voluntary placement for eight hours a week minimum.

Applications from students whose first language is not English are welcome. For International students we require evidence of proficiency in English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading), the required minimum is: IELTS (SELT) 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components).

Course programme

Summary

This programme is aimed particularly at healthcare assistants and care workers, and is designed to offer flexible study so that it is suitable if you are already in work.

It has been designed in conjunction with local employers (the Primary Care Trusts and the Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust) and is an ideal first level HE qualification for healthcare workers in both the public and private sector.

All of City College Norwich’s Degree programmes are validated by the UEA, meaning that the quality of the awards you get is assured by a world renowned Higher Education organisation.

This course will be delivered through workshops, lectures, presentations, seminars and group activities.

The emphasis on skills for work means that this is a truly vocational programme and will enable you to both ground your learning in the workplace as well as reflect on work practice in an academic context. Students in employment will be expected to receive practical and enabling support from their employers.
