What Will I Learn? The Foundation Degree in Music Technology is designed to equip you with industry-recognised sound production and engineering skills.
The course is made up of eight modules, with four delivered in each year. There are four specific areas of study and you will complete first (Level 1) and second year (Level 2) modules in each. A module on the FdSc has a value of 30 credits at HE Level.
To complete and qualify for the Foundation Degree, you must gain 240 credits and therefore complete and pass all eight modules.

Studio Practice
These modules introduce you to the world of the recording studio, and set you on the road to becoming a skilled sound engineer. Skills relating to tracking, mixing and mastering are explored. You will gain an appreciation of studio equipment and practices in a number of real world
scenarios.

Industry
In these modules, you will research an area of the industry and explore and gain the skills required to work within it. Industry placements will encourage the work based learning requirement, that is a core philosophy of the foundation degree. Within this module, students will also be heavily involved in the operation of Confetti’s flagship commercial studio complex Electric Mayhem.
