Why take this course? Film Industries combines the critical study of film with instruction in skills demanded by the modern screen industries. You will study a world of film culture from Hollywood blockbusters to art house movies to Vimeo shorts. You will also write scripts and film reviews, make videos and learn about the marketing of movies. You can study abroad or earn credits for Professional Experience in the second year. This course gives you the critical tools to understand film’s historic influence, its pioneers and moguls, its auteurs and its audiences. It provides insights into working practices, business models, media legislation and creative roles within the industry today.
