If you want to get a real grasp of finance and be able to manage finance with confidence this course will show you how.

• Understand and Interpret a Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet and consider the significance of these reports to your own company or department
• Understand how Stock, Work-in-Progress, Depreciation, Provisions, Accruals & Prepayments and other relevant accounting situations are dealt with
• Understand effective ratio analysis, the concept of working capital, and the dangers of overtrading
• Produce a cash flow forecast, projected Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet.
• Understand variable and fixed costs, marginal costing systems and break-even analysis
• Understand basic budgetary procedures and reports
• Have the opportunity to discuss your own finance related questions

If your business is located in the West of Scotland you may be eligible for a grant of up to 50% of the cost of participating in these courses. There are a number of places available which are reserved for businesses with less than 250 employees and companies must meet certain eligibility criteria.
