Fine Art - Capturing Movement

On this course you will explore the figure in movement through the use of mark-making and drawing approaches. You will respond to a series of moving poses which will encourage you to capture the energy and expressive form of the figure. You will have the opportunity to draw from both the nude, as well as a clothed model – encouraging you to think not just about the anatomical form when in a dynamic position, but also how material and texture can be depicted in movement. You will experiment in the use of different media, while drawing from both slow motion and high speed poses.

Course Outcomes
You will have developed your motion drawing skills and will be more confident in your ability to visually express the moving figure. You will have benefitted from exploring different mark-making approaches and observational drawing methods.
